Meet your Doula

Welcome, I’m Tamara, founder of Labor of Tiny Blessings Doula Care. I’m a wife, mother of two, and proud nana living in the Chandler/Gilbert area for over 23 years.

My journey to becoming a doula began with my own births. My first pregnancy was complicated by severe hyperemesis, and at nearly 42 weeks I labored without the knowledge or support I needed. Interventions like Pitocin, an epidural, and an emergent cesarean after my baby passed meconium left me wishing I’d had someone to explain options and advocate for me. My second pregnancy ended in a repeat cesarean after being advised that a VBAC wasn’t safe, another moment where evidence-based guidance might have changed my choices.

Those experiences inspired me to become a Labor & Delivery nurse. Years on the unit taught me clinical skills and deepened my compassion, empathy, and commitment to supporting families. Becoming a doula allows me to blend that evidence-based knowledge with one-on-one emotional and physical support.

As your doula, I’m part of your support team, not the medical team. I work alongside you, your partner, and your healthcare providers to help you feel informed, empowered, and cared for so you can have the best possible birth story for your Tiny Blessing.
